An open letter to the men's playing group...

20 Mar 2018 by Steven Gannell

Lads,

As of this moment we have had only 22 players pay their $100 commitment fee. This was due at the end of February. As you’ve been told, there’s two reasons for the commitment fee:

1) Your club needs money coming in now to cover early season costs eg. League affiliation fees, apparel costs, equipment costs, etc.

2) ‎It will help take the pressure off you prior to round 2, our first home game, when your registration fees are due in their entirety.

Counting the magnets on the board, there could be 12-15 players missing out on Round 1, barring injuries and unavailabilities. In terms of player numbers, the club couldn’t be healthier, and there’s a sense of something really special on the horizon for this group.

But as a playing group we need to start taking some responsibility for the financial health of our club.

It goes without saying that those that are paid up will be given preference over those who have not when it comes to making close selection calls. This is not a threat – it is just the reality of the situation. Why should somebody who has refused to commit financially to the club play over somebody who has? It’s common sense.

It is also my understanding that you will be ineligible for selection in Round 2 unless the commitment fee has been paid or an effort has been made to initiate a payment plan for your fees. This can be organized with myself or Lorraine.

Lorraine will have the eftpos machine down there again this week and at the UTCRASH opening next Saturday so please take the opportunity to start making a dent in your fees.

There is also the option of setting up a direct debit payment into the club’s account, where you can set a weekly amount to be debited from your account.
AccName: UTFNC
BSB: 633000

(Put your name and Rego Fees as the description)

You can also pay through TeamApp. If you haven’t received an invoice for the $100 through TeamApp you can go the Store, choose the item “Upfront Fees” and purchase.

There are plenty of options to get it done.

Boys, please don’t think for a minute that I enjoy jumping on here and asking you for cash. I hate it. But the reality is that the club is struggling financially as we wait for the season to get underway and the best and easiest solution is for us to start paying our fees.

Just a reminder it’s:
$380 senior men
$340 full time students, apprentices or Health Care card holders.
(NB. These figures do not include the $20 online registration fee)

Please contact me by phone or PM if you want to discuss anything fees related.

Cheers,
